Our Team
Founding partner, Dan Morrison, has over 35 years of litigation experience. He regularly represents insurers in matters of insurance coverage in the context of commercial and personal lines policies. In addition, Dan represents individuals and businesses, whether directly or as insureds. Dan’s expertise in such matters includes the defense of claims sounding in products liability, construction defect, toxic torts, environmental, and professional liability. Dan’s practice also includes commercial and litigation. Dan practices in the federal and state courts of New York and Connecticut. He is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC), the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), and the New York State Bar Association. Dan is also actively involved with his alma mater Fordham Law School, where he is a member of the Small to Midsize Firm Leaders Dean’s Advisory Council. He is a Past President of the Westchester/Putnam Chapter of the Fordham Law School Alumni Association. Dan is also a Board member of the Xavier Society for the Blind. Dan, a graduate of Haverford College, has been consistently recognized as a “Super Lawyer” for more than ten years.
Another partner of the firm, Steven Sledzik has over 25 years of litigation experience. His practice is primarily focused on employment and commercial litigation, including non-competition agreements, employment discrimination litigation, civil rights litigation, and contract disputes. Steve has extensive experience litigating complex matters in both the federal and state courts of New York and Connecticut. Steve also handles non-employment, commercial and real estate matters.
Among Steve’s clients are municipalities, businesses and individuals. Steve is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Council. He has provided pro bono service to New York City’s Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and a non-profit children’s theater company. Steve is a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown Law School.
Janet E. Crawford is a senior associate at the firm, with more than 15 years of experience. She is a litigator with a specialty in insurance coverage, and her experience also includes construction law, premises liability, labor law, products liability, commercial litigation, pharmaceutical law, environmental law, complex litigation and professional liability. Janet practices in both state and federal court and is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Janet is a graduate of Princeton University and Fordham University School of Law.
Maureen A. Sockett is a senior associate at the firm with more than 20 years of experience as a litigator in all aspects of personal injury – premises, motor vehicle and products liability, labor law, medical and legal malpractice, contractual indemnification and insurance coverage issues – in state and federal courts. Maureen is admitted to practice in state and federal court, and is a graduate of Fordham University and Brooklyn Law School.
Gail A. Rueckel-Davey is a senior associate at the firm, with more than 30 years of experience. She is a litigator having practiced in the areas of insurance defense with experience in motor vehicle, general liability, premises, medical malpractice, insurance coverage and New York’s Labor Law. Gail has also been the managing attorney of a medium-sized firm, managing both attorneys and staff, but was interested in spending more time in the actual practice of law, instead of handling administrative tasks. She is admitted to practice in the state courts of New York and Connecticut, and the federal Eastern District of New York. Gail is a graduate of Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus and Hofstra University School of Law.
